Brewarrina Hotel

The Brewarrina Hotel (affectionately known as “The Middle” to locals) has a longstanding reputation for providing the “must haves” in a country pub.

  • A welcoming environment where you can relax and enjoy a drink with friends.
  • A taste tempting bistro where you can enjoy a hearty but affordable pub meal.

According to the locals, this place is home to the best Chef in town. It’s a ‘milk bar’ style café located in the old hotel and it is open whenever the flags are on the footpath, usually from around 9.30am – 2pm any day of the week. Choose from burgers and breakfasts, a good ruddy steak or a lean grilled fish and salad.

  • Look for the flags on the footpath, usually Mon-Sun 9.30am – 2.00pm
  • Great menu, offering breakfast and lunch items

The Brewarrina Hotel is located in the centre of town and only a convenient short walk from the famous National Heritage listed Aboriginal Fish traps.

Friendly Grocer

The Friendly Grocer is located on the main street. Look for the little blue shop opposite the Hotel Brewarrina and pick up all your groceries, liquor, fruit and veg and frozen goods. The owner, Max, is a keen fisherman and is always open for a chat and to share a bit of advice, as well as stocking various lures and fishing bait.

Belah Campground, Mungo National Park

Belah campground is located half way along the Mungo Drive Tour. It offers secluded outback camping in the Willandra Lakes World Heritage region, with just 12 campsites. There are picnic tables and non-flush toilets. This is a remote campground, you’ll find room to pitch your tent amongst lovely wooded surroundings. It’s a great peaceful campsite to enjoy bird watching, Park entry fees and camping fees apply.

Main Campground, Mungo National Park

At Main Camp, you’ll find good basic facilities, including an amenities block, barbecues and picnic tables. It’s a short drive to Mungo Visitor Centre, where you can access hot showers, flush toilets and a public phone. There’s 33 sites with space for your caravan, camping trailers and tents. The campground’s location close to the park’s entry and several attractions makes it a convenient place to base yourself for your visit to Mungo National Park.

Immerse yourself in the area’s rich Aboriginal history on a Walls of China Discovery tour (go to the website to book online. . And, of course, no visit is complete without a sunset visit to Mungo lookout. Located within walking distance of the campground, the Walls’ extraordinary colours and captivating scenery are sure to remain in your mind’s eye as you drift off to sleep.

Mungo Shearers’ Quarters, Mungo National Park

The refurbished Mungo Shearers’ Quarters offers basic facilities ( BYO bedding and food) close to key park attractions, including Mungo Visitor Centre and Mungo Woolshed.
Exploring these authentic former shearers’ quarters, you can’t help feeling you’re a part of the park’s former life as a functioning sheep station. Imagine the click of the shears as you share a meal in the communal kitchen/dining room, or relax and have a yarn in the central courtyard.Mungo Shearers’ Quarters has 2 rooms with 3 bunk beds, 1 room with a double and 2 bunk beds, 1 room with a queen and 2 bunk beds, and 1 room with a double bed and 1 single bed.
