๐ŸŽถ Heading to the Mundi Mundi Bash? Make the journey part of the adventure!

Before the music begins on the Mundi Mundi Plains take some extra time to explore the towns, villages and attractions along the Darling River Run.

Follow the Darling through Outback NSW, stopping to discover ancient Aboriginal culture, historic river ports, welcoming country pubs, national parks and wide-open landscapes.

Visit Brewarrina, Bourke, Louth, Tilpa, Wilcannia, Menindee, Pooncarie and Wentworth - or choose a section of the Run that fits your journey.

Make the road trip even more memorable with a stay at one of the Outback Beds farm stay properties. Experience genuine country hospitality, meet the locals and spend a night under the stars.

Whether you travel the Darling River Run on the way to Broken Hill or take the long way home, slow down, stay a little longer and support the communities that make the outback so special.

The Bash may be the destination - but the journey is all part of the experience.

๐Ÿ•๏ธ Escape to the quiet of Dry Tank Campground in Gundabooka National Park โ€“ a remote outback retreat #OutOnTheRun

Surrounded by rugged landscapes and wide-open skies, Dry Tank is an ideal base for exploring the natural beauty of Gundabooka.

The campground offers picnic tables, fire pits, barbecues and non-flush toilets, providing the essentials for a comfortable, off-grid stay.

While youโ€™re there, follow the Little Mountain Walking Track to Little Mountain Lookout. Itโ€™s a short but rewarding walk, with sweeping views across the plains towards Mount Gunderbooka. ๐ŸŒ„

Peaceful, remote and well worth the journey.

๐Ÿฆด Come face to face with Australiaโ€™s prehistoric giants at the Wentworth Pioneer Museum!

Among the museumโ€™s fascinating exhibits are life-sized replicas of megafauna once found across the Wentworth region, including the enormous Diprotodon, giant short-faced kangaroo, flightless Genyornis and fearsome marsupial lion.

Thereโ€™s plenty more to discover, with over 3,000 artefacts and relics exploring the regionโ€™s history. Exhibits include paddle steamer models and photographs, military memorabilia, space junk, a 90-pound Murray cod, a 1942 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and reminders of the challenges faced by early settlers.

Itโ€™s a fascinating stop for visitors of all ages while travelling the Darling River Run.

๐Ÿ“ 117 Beverley Street, Wentworth
๐Ÿ•™ Open daily from 10amโ€“4pm

Operated by Rotary Club volunteers, so it may be worth checking ahead.

๐Ÿ‘ Step back in time with a tour of historic Dunlop Station, near Louth. Established in 1880, Dunlop was once part of a vast pastoral holding spanning almost 400,000 hectares.

A guided tour offers visitors the opportunity to explore the stationโ€™s historic buildings and learn about life on one of the regionโ€™s great pastoral properties.

Tours are generally available Tuesday to Sunday, following morning tea at 10:45am. This week, tours are scheduled from Tuesday to Friday, with no tours available over the weekend.

As arrangements can change, please check the Dunlop Station Facebook page for the latest updates before visiting.

โ›บ Why not stay a little longer? Camping is available beside the Darling River, along with brand-new glamping options, making Dunlop Station a memorable stop along the Darling River Run.

๐Ÿšค Enjoy a day out on the water in Wentworth!

Located close to town on the Darling River, near its junction with the Murray, the Wentworth Wharf and boat ramp is a great place to launch the boat, cast a line, paddle along the river or simply relax by the water with the family.

Pack the fishing gear, kayaks and a picnic, and enjoy a day out on the water in Wentworth.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations Guy!

Sometimes the finish line isn't where you planned, but that doesn't make the journey any less remarkable.

Over the past couple of weeks, we've watched Guy Schweitzer take on an incredible challenge, running the length of the Darling River Run. While injury meant the journey came to an end just short of Wentworth at Pooncarie, what he has achieved is nothing short of amazing.

From freezing mornings and endless kilometres to spectacular landscapes, incredible wildlife and iconic outback towns, Guy's adventure has inspired us all.

Thank you Guy, for taking us along on your Darling River Run journey. We wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you back #OutOnTheRun one day - even if it's in a 4WD like the rest of us mere mortals! ๐Ÿ˜„

๐Ÿ‘ Join us in congratulating Guy on his amazing run in the comments below, and be sure to follow his page at Home Run.
